“Le Hyde” is
located in the gently rolling Gers countryside just outside the small
village of Magnan and a 10 minute drive from the town of Nogaro-en-Armagnac. Gers is in the administrative area of the Midi-Pyrenees. The nearest airport is
Pau (1 hr – Ryanair); otherwise Bordeaux, Toulouse &
Biarritz are all 2 hrs away. The Atlantic coast and the Pyrenees
mountains are both a 90-minute drive. Accommodation We can sleep up to four people, either in two twin rooms or
with one couple in the main bedroom which has a king-size sleigh bed
and the other two people in one of the twin rooms. The bedrooms are on the first floor; however the shower room/WC
is on the ground floor. For this reason, no under-5's. Subject to the weather, breakfast is taken on the terrace
at the rear of the house, overlooking a lake and its varied wildlife –
ducks, moorhens, coots, herons, cormorants, grebes and coypu (depending
on season). Breakfast includes a choice of orange juice, tea/coffee, croissants, brioche, toast, cereals and fresh fruit. Please note that the lake is used for
irrigating the surrounding maize fields— it is not always full in high
summer. Swimming is not allowed in the lake. Rates €48/£45 per room per night,including
continental breakfast. Deposit required, refundable on departure. From June 2010 a small local tourist tax is payable. Non-smokers only. No pets.
